Introduction to PT Learning, an e-Learning service for physical therapists

PT Learning is a web-based training system for physical therapists to improve their skills. It is available as a lifelong learning tool for a wide range of users, from newcomers to seasoned professionals. Supervised by university professors and experts, its learning materials are divided into fields such as clinical medicine, physical therapy foundations, cranial nerves, musculoskeletal system, internal disorders, living environment support, physical therapy, and industrial physical therapy. A key feature is that it includes not only the techniques most essential for physical therapists, but also a broad range of topics including regulations, business, and human skills (physical therapy-related lessons). In addition, the content includes not only lecture formats but also practical techniques, designed to be immediately useful in medical settings.

Furthermore, anticipating that physical therapists will also be required to have pharmacological knowledge in the future, the program is structured—with the cooperation of the "MP Learning Steering Committee"—to allow users to take lessons related to diseases and treatments relevant to physical therapists. In addition, content covering information and knowledge newly required due to medical fee revisions is scheduled to be added. PT Learning receives total support from Proassist Co., Ltd., which handles system development, educational content creation and distribution, and serves as the management secretariat, and is operated under the supervision of Professor Morihiro Tsujishita of Konan Women's University.

We at Japan Medix have listened to many physical therapists who told us, "We are too busy with our daily work to attend academic conferences and training sessions, even if we want to," and we have addressed these concerns head-on. As a result, we decided to introduce PT Learning as an optimal tool that allows instructors to acquire knowledge in various fields from the comfort of their homes or workplaces. In the future, we also plan to cover physical therapies such as electrical stimulation therapy, in which Japan Medix specializes.
